Description of Project:
The Digital Thoreau initiative comprises multiple projects aimed at increasing readers’ understanding of and engagement with texts by American transcendentalist writer Henry David Thoreau. Two of the projects focus on the manuscript of Walden, which Thoreau put through at least seven draft versions between 1846 and 1854.
How it was Made:
The main Digital Thorough Landing page uses WordPress, but links to other sites and projects that utilize other tools, such as Commons in a Box, Omeka, and Github.
