Description of Project:
A project of Digital Thoreau, The Readers' Thoreau is a WordPress multisite deployed as a social network for annotating Thoreau's works collaboratively. Readers can organize themselves in groups to converse in the margins of five different Thoreau texts, including Walden and Resistance to Civil Government. They can control the visibility of their annotations, electing to share them with other group members only, designated other groups, or the world at large. They can also interact in forums and create shared documents.
How it was Made:
The Readers' Thoreau is built with Commons in A Box (CBOX) Classic. Commons in a Box is a plugin for WordPress released by the team that created the CUNY Academic Commons.
